Haciendas are places that reflect the culture of the towns. Places that combined men and nature. Architectural styles, domestic and social customs, economic activities and legends are recorded in these places.
The Hacienda San Ildefonso Teya was founded in 1683 by Doña Ildefonsa Antonia Marcos Bermejo Calderón y de la Helguera, who was the wife of the noble and majestic Conde de Miraflores.
Built in the colony, for two centuries it was dedicated to livestock, corn and other agricultural work, until the 19th century it became henequen plantation. Destroyed and abandoned, it was acquired by its current owner, Don Jorge Cárdenas Gutiérrez, in 1974.
Don Jorge Cárdenas dedicated himself to rebuilding the hacienda from 1987 to 1991.
Several rooms were also opened for social events, such as the "Gran Salón Casa de Máquinas" and "Salón Principal de los Vitrales" among others.
The Hacienda San Ildefonso Teya, which today is only a few minutes from the city of Merida, has come to be the first Yucatean Hacienda hotel.
