The only one in Latin America that has seven endemic species: Taiman turtle, Mojina turtle, Hicotea turtle, White turtle, Pochitoque turtle, Guao turtle and Chiquigua turtle, all of which are endangered. They take refuge here from incubation up until their separation by size for breeding. Information is disseminated here on issues concerning the life and evolution of turtles, and, presently, lizards.
