This place safeguards the turtle eggs that come to nest in the bay of Isla Mujeres. After hatching, a portion of the population is placed into tanks to protect them and others are released into sea to continue their natural cycle.
A variety of species live here, so the farm plays an important role in the study and conservation of these animals.
Another interesting attraction in Tortugranja is that visitors can feed some of the turtles with special food that is provided by the handlers.
