A beautiful beach, the perfect place for peace and relaxation. People here are very easy-going. It is the most visited beach in the state of Chiapas. It has 32 kilometers of beach and open sea with high waves, palm trees and distant mountain peaks frame the area. However the beach is not the only attraction, as there are also places like Cabeza de Toro, which is a beautiful town on the shores of La Joya Lake;and Cerro Bernal and Boca del Cielo, which are located right on the path that connects the lagoon with the sea.
Its flora is abundant, including species like rootspine palm, bejuco de tazcal, limoncillo, tamarind, coyol palm, mother of salt, pachira aquatica, coconut palm trees, bachelor button, red mangrove and white mangrove, and in terms of wildlife, gulls, pelicans, ducks, herons and albatrosses can be spotted.
In Puerto Arista, activities include fishing, boat tours, ATV's, swimming, beach volleyball and there is a camping area. There are palapa huts, restaurants, walkways, hotels, a jetty, cafe and bars.
