This beautiful house, located just steps from the Paseo de Montejo, built in the 19th century and declared a Historical Monument, retains its original architecture. It has become a passage in the history of Porfirian Yucatan of the 18th and 19th centuries and is now a living example of the lifestyle of one of the most important periods in the history of Yucatan in general and Merida in particular: the henequen boom, which gave it wealth and prosperity, living its finest days under the dictatorship of Porfirio Diaz, whose power ended with the Mexican Revolution of 1910. That boom allowed the city of Merida to change its appearance with the construction of a large number of splendid residences for farmers and wholesalers and large urban developments. Life at the hotel Casa Azul takes place, as it did with the first owners of the property, in the wide corridors surrounding the courtyard adorned with a beautiful Mayan stone fountain. The owners allow guests to relive an era through its exceptional facilities, without compromising on comfort. There is a pool in the backyard and a terrace located at the front of the Hotel where you can enjoy a superb evening meal or just share a few drinks under the cooing of Yucatecan music played by great singers.
